The Vitamix A2300 is the entry point to the Ascent series of machines. It has simple-to-use controls, a great 10-year warranty, and a fair price point compared to other Ascent machines.
When you open the box to the Vitamix A2300, you’ll find the A2300 motor base, the 64-ounce Low-Profile Container, Low-profile tamper and blending cook book.
The entire machine comes in at a very sturdy 11.86lbs, so accidentally pushing something into this blender won't cause it to tip or fall over.
The Vitamix A2300 is part of the Ascent series of machines that have the best Vitamix warranty, coming in at 10 years! The warranty covers all parts, performance, labor, and two-way shipping.
The lid of the Vitamix A2300 is the same as the other Ascent machines with the 64-ounce containers. It’s a clear lid, with a cut-out on top for the tamper. The two clips hold the lid onto the jar, and the o-ring seal around the lid seals to the container to make sure all your ingredients stay inside the container.
The removable plug in the lid also is a 2-ounce measuring cup!
The 64-ounce low profile container that comes with the A2300, is great for large batches of recipes. There are also measuring indicators on the side to know exactly how much you have in your container.
It’s low-profile allows for easy storage under countertops, coming in at 17 inches high while sitting on the motor base.
The Container also has SELF-DETECT technology, so the motor base can automatically detect which container is in use and adjust blend times appropriately. The Self detect also adds another layer of security to the A2300 so you can’t accidentally turn on the machine without a container installed.
The best part is, this container is dishwasher safe!
The blades on the container are 4-inch laser-cut blades that are made from hardened stainless steel. The blades aren’t razor-sharp, as the machine doesn't rely on the sharpness of the blades to cut through ingredients. It relies on the power of the motor to turn the blades with such force to get the smooth blends were thinking of. And speaking of power...
The motor of the Vitamix A2300 is a 2.2 peak horsepower motor with a 4-foot cord.
It's capable of making any recipes from the thickest dips, frozen smoothies, and hot soups. The drive of the motor to blades on the container is an all-metal connection that will not strip out over time.
The controls of the Vitamix A2300 are very straight forward. You have a Variable speed dial, pulse feature, and an on/off switch. This is still a capable machine that shares the same motor as the other machines in this line and has a digital timer and the Self-Detect like the higher-end machines have, but that's about where the fancy bells and whistles end.
Even blenders have an app now?? It does now! With the Vitamix app, you can pair your Ascent series machines (A2300!) and have access to 17 programmed settings, recipes, and instructions!

The ascent series machines all have the same motor and housing design, so they are very comparable when it comes to noise. In my testing here in this video, the A3500 was averaging around 104.5 dB while it was on 10. That is pretty loud! It’s quieter than other machines, but it’s still pretty loud, thankfully you won't have the machine on 10 for a long time. If you’re making soups that require the machine to be on for longer periods of time, you can step away and let the machine do its thing. High-powered blenders have high noise output!
One of my favorite ‘features’ of Vitamix machines is that they are self-cleaning! After you’re done making your recipe, add about 1/3rd water and a dot of dish soap to the container and put it back on the A2300. Turn the dial to 10 and let the container clean itself for 30 seconds to a minute depending on how thick of a recipe you just made. For smoothies, I typically let it go for about 30 seconds. Rinse out your container (then dry it to prevent your container from becoming hazy!) and you have a clean container. One of my favorite features.
The A2300 motor base and container sit at 17 inches high, 11 inches deep, and 8 inches wide. Make sure you have enough space on your countertops because I typically keep my machine out on the counter all the time!
The Vitamix A2300 is a great option for those who want to have a straightforward machine with minimal buttons and knobs. The variable speed control, pulse, and bright digital timer makes for an easy to set up and use experience.
With the Ascent series machines, you’ll get a great 10-year warranty with your purchase.
This blender is strong enough to make any recipe you throw at it with its 2.2 horsepower motor to make smooth pureed smoothies to quickly chopping thick salsa recipes, or on the other end of the spectrum, multiple minutes to make hot soups.
